WEVA (Wedding and Event Videographers Association) surveyed 500 brides who were married in 2005. They were asked several questions about videography, whether they had their wedding video-recorded or not. Here's what they found out:

Before the wedding:

• Only a little more than half surveyed brides considered a wedding video a "Top 10" service in comparison to other wedding-related services.
• 38% did not have their wedding video-recorded by anyone.

But.. after the wedding

• 75% feel that the wedding video should be a "Top 10" service for their wedding.
• Of the 38% that did not have their wedding video-recorded by anyone, regret not having their wedding video-recorded and strongly recommend that future brides have their wedding video-recorded.
• Of the brides who did have their wedding video-recorded by an amateur, 45% of them wished they would have used a professional videographer instead.
